Schedule

Adrienne teaches group classes in Shadyside and Mt. Lebanon. See below for 2017 fall sessions. These classes are taught in a cumulative fashion with plenty of individual attention for each student. By signing up for the entire session, rather than dropping in here and there, students build on poses week by week. There will be a theme for the overall session as well as each class, thus learning the whole of yoga and allowing for optimal growth. The style is a slow, purposeful flow. (Mt. Lebanon classes come with the option to make up absences, and a weekly email with reminders and tips.)

Descriptions:

ADULT YOGA: These mixed-level vinyasa classes are taught in a cumulative fashion with plenty of individual attention for the students. The overall session and each class will have a physical and philosophical theme. Classes include: variations on the sun salutation, standing and seated poses, and beginning to advanced inversions and arm balances. There will be guidance for students to modify or challenge themselves appropriately. We will end with deep relaxation and guided meditation.

TWEEN YOGA: In this 45-minute class, kids will practice yoga postures that emphasize strength, flexibility, and balance based on the specific developmental patterns of tweens. This includes emphasis on coordination, and working on strength in a way that supports healthy muscle growth. Through mindfulness techniques, kids will learn practical tools for dealing with the challenging emotions of pre-puberty and puberty – anxiety, but also frustration, anger and individuality seeking. While kids will gain heightened self-awareness that allows for their uniqueness, they will also engage in group activity that promotes community.
